Newark - Service 90 joins the Vectare Network

Nottinghamshire transport specialists Vectare are stepping in to save the Nottingham to Newark express bus service following news that Marshalls of Sutton on Trent are withdrawing their “Fosseway Flyer” from 15th April 2023

Vectare are delighted to announce that they will be commencing operation of a new express bus service between Newark and Nottingham from Sunday 16th April 2023, providing a full replacement for the current Marshalls of Sutton on Trent “Fosseway Flyer” service which ceases operation on Saturday 15th April.

Buses will operate hourly on Monday to Saturday daytimes, with extra journeys at peak times, and evening and Sunday buses will also be provided. Journeys will start from Newark Bus Station and run via Farndon, before running express to Nottingham via the A46 and A52 (additional settlements adjacent to the A46, including Coneygrey Spinney, will also be served). Evening buses will run via Cotgrave, retaining vital links for workers and those enjoying evening leisure activities in Nottingham.

Peter Nathanail, Commercial and Operations Director at Vectare, said “I’m delighted that we are able to step in and maintain essential links between Newark, Farndon and Nottingham, with no gap in service between the Fosseway Flyer being withdrawn and our service launching. We’ve been running high quality, reliable buses in Rushcliffe for four years now, and this is a logical extension of our current network. I’d encourage everybody who lives along the route to make use of it, because only through growing passenger numbers can we preserve and develop this route and make it sustainable in the long term.”

Vectare will operate the route using high specification, low carbon certified single deck buses, which incorporate leather seating, wood effect flooring, USB charging and full passenger air conditioning, providing an executive feel and a comfortable journey. All vehicles are fully wheelchair accessible and buggy friendly, and all seats are also fitted with seatbelts, for extra safety on this express service.

Great value fares will be available from day one, with special discounts for couples, families and groups travelling together. Please be advised that this service cannot be part of the Government £2 fare scheme, as new services introduced during 2023 are not eligible for the scheme, so standard bus fares will apply.
