July 2023 Network Changes (East & East Mids)
From Sunday 16th July 2023 we're making changes to parts of our East of England and East Midlands networks, centred around Peterborough and Leicester. Details of these changes can be found below:
East of England
We're introducing a revised timetable on all days to improve service reliability and better meet the end of the school day, at the Kings School Peterborough, when the children return in September.
At the same time we'll making some small changes to our fares within the Peterborough City Zone with most single and returns increasing by 20p. We're also be running a special summer promotion* on Service R4 with all return tickets available for just £3, regardless of age of distance travelled.
Term & Academic Year passes will continue to be available for U19s on Service R4 via the myTrip app. Autumn Term & Academic year passes will be available on sale from the 1st of August.
*R4 Summer Return valid from 17-07-23 until 31-08-23.
Service withdrawn due to low usage.
We're revising Service 23 between Peterborough and Lynch Wood to operate at peak times only. An all day weekday service will continue to be provided by new Service 24 (24X) which replaces Service 23A.
At the same time we'll making some small changes to our fares within the Peterborough City Zone with most single and returns increasing by 20p.
Service 24 (24X)
New Service 24 follows the same route as previous Service 23A and will provide a regular daytime service between Peterborough City Centre and Lynch Wood via Woodston, Orton Mere & Orton Waterville. Buses will generally run from 6am until 8pm Monday-Friday.
A small number of journeys each day will operate numbered 24X and will not serve Orton Waterville. These journeys will operate direct along Oundle Road.
One journey in each direction is timed to provide links from Peterborough City Centre and Woodston to Nene Park Academy. Term & Academic Year passes will be available for U19s via the myTrip app. Autumn Term & Academic year passes will be available on sale from the 1st of August.
We're making changes to the Novus Direct route in Leicester City Centre. The City Loop will be reversed with buses operating in an anti-clockwise loop from St Nicholas Circle > Royal Infirmary Hospital > Station > St Margaret's Bus Station > St Nicholas Circle. This is designed to provide more accessible links for passengers using Leicester Station and Jubilee Square.
There will be some minor changes to the timetable to accommodate the revised route.
We'll also be ending our £2 single fare promotion. This was introduced on a commercial basis as we are ineligible for the national government scheme which has been reimbursing other operators. Unfortunately it is no longer viable for us to continue offering this discount. However we will be setting out flat single fare at a £2.50 rather than returning it to the original price of £3.00. For passengers travelling regularly we'll be adding a 3-month ticket to our product range, available from the myTrip app. This will be priced at £170 for adults (from £2.83 per day*) and £119 for U19s (from £1.98 per day*).
*Based on travelling 60 days in the 3-month period.
Service withdrawn due to low usage. Partially replaced by Novus Fosse.
Service withdrawn and replaced by Novus Fosse.

Buses will operate in a clockwise loop from Fosse Park, Sainsburys > Brockington College (Enderby) > Next HQ (Enderby) > New Lubbesthorpe > Thorpe Astley* > Meridian Business Park > Fosse Park, Sainsburys.

*Buses in Thorpe Astley will operate via Murby Way and Jewisbury Way reinstating links previously provided by Arriva 104.
Service 2X (2N)
We're enhancing Service 2X with the introduction of journeys seven days a week. Buses will continue to operate in the early morning and evenings only but will provide a greater number of links from Loughborough and the Soar Valley to Leicester.
On Saturday evenings we'll also be providing a single 'Night' journey from Leicester at 2355 numbered 2N. This journey will follow the normal route, except in Quorn where it will run direct via Farley Way and will not serve the main town estates. Premium single fares will be apply on Service 2N and ENCTS cards will not be valid.
