North West Essex Network

Vectare operate a network of services across the north west of Essex centred on the hubs of Epping, Harlow, Waltham Abbey and Waltham Cross, with routes extending out to Nazeing, Theydon Bois, Abridge, Debden, Loughton, Coopersale, North Weald and Ongar.

Service 13

Service 13 provides a generally hourly service six days a week linking Waltham Cross and Waltham Abbey with Epping, with early morning and early evening extensions (13C) to/from North Weald. In Epping buses serve both the Station, for connections to the Central Line and London, and also St Margaret's Hospital. On weekdays one journey in each direction (13A) makes additional stops in Waltham Abbey and serves St Johns school providing an easy access service for school pupils.

Service 14

Service 14 provides a regular weekday link between Waltham Cross and Waltham Abbey (Upshire Shops) via Paternoster Hill with buses running from 0930-1950. There's also a small number of short journeys on a Saturday linking Paternoster Hill with Waltham Abbey centre.

Service 18 / 418

Service 18 & 418 provide a link six days a week from Loughton, Debden, Abridge and Theydon Bois to Epping St Margarets Hospital (418) with extensions to North Weald (18) and a limited service to/from Ongar (18C).

Service 20

Service 20 provides a limited weekday service (early mornings and evenings only) from Brays Grove to Harlow centre with a two hourly service running on Saturdays.

Service 22

Service 22 provides a limited weekday service from Waltham Cross to the Shernbroke Road estate in Waltham Abbey. Buses run at peak times and in the evening only. There's also a regular Saturday service running hourly from 0715-1945.

Service 30

Unofficially Britains Short Bus Route, at just 0.9 miles each way! Service 30 offers a handy link for residents of Coopersale Village to reach St Margaret's Hospital in Epping six days a week, with five return trips each weekday and four on a Saturday.

Service 31

Service 31 provides a two hourly service throughout the day linking Coopersale, Epping Green, Broadley Common and Roydon with Harlow and Epping. There's also onward connections from Coopersale to St Margaret's Hospital via Service 30 on all daytime journeys.

Service 505

Service 505 provides a two hourly service throughout the day linking Waltham Cross and Waltham Abbey with Harlow via Nazeing and Broadley Common. Buses also run on a Saturday but only between Waltham Abbey and Harlow, passengers travelling to/from Waltham Cross will need to change on Quaker Lane for services 13/22.

We recommend checking the timetable carefully when using Service 505 as not all journeys serve all parts of the route. We apologise for any confusion this causes. Unfortunately this service is contracted to Essex County Council and we aren't permitted to make changes to simplify the route.

Fares

We offer great value fares across our North West Essex network with a full zone day ticket at just £6 allowing unlimited travel across all our routes (except 31 & 505). A range of season tickets and group tickets are also available and full details can be found by clicking the individual route links above or visiting our Buy Tickets page, which allows tickets to be purchase for use on the myTrip mobile app.

Travelling more locally?

We also offer a range of tickets in our Abbey Zones and Epping Forest Zones for those travelling more locally.

The Abbey Zone covers services 13, 14 & 22 between Waltham Cross and the Waltham Abbey Estates. You can find more on our Abbey Zone network here.

The Epping Forest Zone covers services 13, 18, 30, 418 between Loughton, Epping and North Weald. 

Travelling on Services 31 & 505?

These services are operated under contract to Essex County Council and unfortunately contractual restrictions prevent us from selling or accepting our own tickets on board. Sadly this means we're unable to offer connected tickets with our other services in the area. 

Travelling all across Essex by Bus?

We also sell and accept Essex Saver tickets on all our local buses within Essex. Priced at £11.10 this allows unlimited travel almost every local bus in the County (some school and airport services are excluded).
